SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the hiring of Sébastien Bisaillon as the organization’s Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager.
“I’m thrilled to join the Crusaders and the group already in place, in order to be a small part of the organization and players’ success,” stated Bisaillon on his new role. “There has been a tradition of excellence that has been created and cultivated, which makes this new start so exciting as well as motivating for me.”
“I want to thank Brennan and the ownership group for putting trust in me and giving me the opportunity to work within such a healthy culture, which I got to witness firsthand when I was around the team a handful of times during this past playoff run,” he continued. “Our players are talented, driven young men with a bright future ahead of them, and I’m fully committed to doing whatever it takes in order for them to develop, reach their full potential, and achieve their goals.”
“We are excited about adding Seb to the staff as Assistant Coach and Assistant General Manager,” said Crusaders Head Coach and General Manager, Brennan Menard. “He is trustworthy, hard working, and a great mentor for our D core. He had an extensive playing career, and since then, he has truly honed his craft, seamlessly blending player development with coaching. He checks all the important boxes for how we like to coach and develop our players in Sherwood Park as we prepare them to make the next steps in their careers.”
Bisaillon began his hockey career with the Val-d’Or Foreurs of the QMJHL. In his four seasons with the club, Bisaillon collected a total of 189 points (66 goals, 123 assists) through 263 games. Bisaillon is a name many Edmontonians will be familiar with: in 2006, he signed with the Edmonton Oilers, playing a pair of games that season as an emergency call-up. The defender spent parts of three seasons as part of the Oilers organization, featuring stints with the Stockton Thunder and the Springfield Falcons.
Most recently, Bisaillon spent nine seasons in France’s Ligue Magnus, spending seven of those with Grenoble. Before signing with Grenoble, the defenceman also played a pair of seasons in the league with Angers (2014/2015) and Briançon (2013/2014).
The entire organization would like to welcome Sébastien and his family to the Crusaders.
