Mascot Performer (The Cru-antic!) - Volunteer

Are you energetic, enthusiastic, and ready to be the face of the Sherwood Park Crusaders? We're looking for our next Crunatic Mascot Performer This role involves entertaining crowds, interacting with fans of all ages, and helping create an unforgettable game-day atmosphere. You'll represent the Crusaders at home games, community events, and promotional appearances.

Requirements: Must be highly energetic, comfortable performing in costume, have a positive attitude, and be good with crowds. Physical stamina is required for wearing the mascot suit. Previous mascot experience is a bonus but not required.

Commitment: All home games (approx. 25-30 per season), plus various community and promotional events as scheduled.

Fro-Zone Speed Skater - Volunteer

Do you have a need for speed on the ice? We're looking for an individual to serve as our Fro-Zone Speed Skater! Your main qualification is simple: the ability to skate quickly and confidently around the ice during intermissions or specific promotional events. This role is all about bringing excitement and energy to our fans during breaks in the action.

Requirements: Strong ice skating skills, particularly speed skating. Must be reliable, able to follow instructions, and available for designated home games. Your own skates and protective gear are recommended.

Commitment: Select home games, as scheduled.

Ticket Security - Volunteer

Help us ensure a smooth and secure entry experience for all our fans! As Ticket Security, you'll be responsible for verifying tickets at arena entrances, guiding guests, and assisting with crowd flow. Your presence helps maintain a safe and organized environment for everyone attending Crusaders games.

Requirements: Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a friendly, professional demeanor. Ability to stand for extended periods and calmly handle various situations. Must be at least 18 years old.

Commitment: All home games, arriving prior to doors opening.

Score Clock Administrator - Volunteer (Specific Training Required)

Are you highly attentive and have a keen eye for detail? We're looking for a dedicated Score Clock Adminstrator to manage the official game clock and statistics during Crusaders home games. This critical role requires focus and precision to ensure accurate game flow and record-keeping.

Requirements: Strong focus, quick reaction time, and a good understanding of hockey rules and game flow. Must be comfortable operating specialized equipment and be willing to undergo mandatory training and certification from the league. Previous experience with sports timing systems is an asset.

Commitment: All home games, including pre-game setup and post-game wrap-up.

Colour Commentator - Volunteer

Do you have a passion for hockey and a knack for engaging commentary? Join our broadcast team as a Colour Commentator! You'll provide insightful analysis, background information, and vibrant commentary alongside our play-by-play announcer for Crusaders home games, enriching the experience for our online and local radio listeners.

Requirements: Extensive knowledge of hockey, strong verbal communication skills, ability to think on your feet, and a clear speaking voice. Experience in broadcasting or public speaking is highly beneficial. Must be able to commit to game schedules.

Commitment: All home games, with pre-game preparation and post-game debriefs.

Rink Security - Volunteer

Be a key part of maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment during Crusaders games! As Rink Security, you'll patrol designated areas, assist fans with inquiries, and respond to any issues to ensure the well-being of attendees and smooth operation of the event. This role is about proactive presence and helpful assistance.

Requirements: Excellent observational skills, a calm demeanor, and a customer-service oriented approach. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be at least 18 years old.

Commitment: All home games, from doors open to post-game exit.
