NOMINATED ⎸ Loranger Earns Nomination for BCHL MVP

The BCHL has announced Crusaders forward Jeremy Loranger has been selected as a finalist for the Vern Dye Memorial Trophy. The award is given annually to the player determined to be the BCHL MVP.

“It’s hard to imagine the BCHL has seen many players like Jeremy,” exclaimed Crusaders general manager Adam Sergerie. “Plenty of great players have come through this league, but what we witnessed in Sherwood Park this season was truly special. Jeremy and his linemates didn’t just put up points — they dominated, night in and night out. Whether we were playing a top team or in a tight game that needed a spark, Jeremy delivered. His ability to raise his game in big moments and lead our team through the most critical stretches is exactly why he’s the definition of ‘most valuable.'”

Loranger was nothing short of dominant in his first season in the BCHL. The Omaha-Nebraska University commit signed with the Crusaders following two seasons with his hometown Trois-Rivières Estacades of the QMU18AAA program. In his first season with the Cru, Loranger collected an incredible 105 points (40 goals, 65 assists) through just 54 games, 18 points more than teammate Kale Dach, and 30 points more than his closest non-Crusaders competitor. In October, Loranger was named to NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List alongside Dach and fellow rookie Poul Andersen. In November, Loranger was selected as the Crusaders’ representative at the BCHL All-Star Game, and was one of eight Crusaders selected to the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game. At the time of writing, Loranger leads the BCHL in playoff scoring, collecting 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists) in the Crusaders’ four-game sweep of the Salmon Arm Silverbacks.

Congratulations, Jeremy, on your well-deserved nomination!
