Yesterday, the BCHL announced both Jeremy Loranger and Poul Andersen as finalists for the Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy. The award is presented annually to the league’s Rookie of the Year.
Loranger joined the Crusaders at the start of the year from the Trois-Rivières Estacades program. The Omaha-Nebraska University commit collected 105 points (40 goals, 65 assists) through just 54 games, earning him recognition as the BCHL’s Leading Scorer. The forward was one of two Crusaders representatives in the league’s 2025 All-Star Game and was one of eight Crusaders selected to the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game. Additionally, Loranger was named to NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List.
“105 points in his first BCHL season — what more needs to be said?” stated Cru general manager, Adam Sergerie. “In a league dominated by 19- and 20-year-olds, Jeremy proved that elite talent knows no age. He was dynamic from the opening night through to the end of the season. He never took his foot off the gas and made a lasting mark on the league.”
Andersen, originally from St. Louis Park, Minnesota, was second in rookie scoring, collecting a total of 59 points (29 goals, 30 assists) in 51 games. The forward was also selected to the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game this season, and also earned his place on NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List. At the time of writing, Andersen has collected five points (2 goals, 3 assists) in four playoff games.
“At just 17 years old, Poul established himself as a key contributor in the BCHL,” Sergeir He finished second among first-year players in both total points and goals, while playing on our top line all season long. Night after night, he was matched against the opposition’s best and was a crucial piece on both the power play and penalty kill. His consistency and maturity made it easy to forget he was in his first year — he carried himself like a veteran.”
Congratulations to both Poul and Jeremy on their well-deserved selections.
