A pair of Crusaders are NHL-bound.
Crusaders forwards Jeremy Loranger (7th round, 198th overall) and Kale Dach (7th round, 201st overall) were selected in the 2025 NHL Draft, heading to the Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins, respectively.
Loranger’s first season in the BCHL was nothing short of dominant. The University of Omaha-Nebraska commit (NCAA, Div.1) signed with the Crusaders following two seasons with the Trois-Rivières Estacades. Last season saw the forward collect 40 goals and 65 assists in 54 games, forming instant chemistry with linemates Kale Dach and Poul Andersen. His 105 points not only led all rookies in scoring, but also the entirety of the BCHL. Additionally, Loranger was named to NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List in November and as part of their year-end rankings, alongside Dach and Andersen. In November, Loranger was selected as the Crusaders’ representative at the BCHL All-Star Game and was one of eight Crusaders selected to the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game.
Dach, a Fort Saskatchewan native, finished second in league scoring last season, collecting 87 points (22 goals, 65 assists) in 54 games. His 65 assists also tied for the BCHL lead. In addition to being selected for the year-end rankings, Dach, along with fellow Crusaders Jeremy Loranger and Poul Andersen, was named to the NHL Central Scouting “Players to Watch” mid-season rankings. Shortly after, the Fort Saskatchewan native was one of eight Crusaders selected for the BCHL Top Prospects Game. In January, Dach was named the captain of the Crusaders. Dach is currently committed to Penn State University.
Congratulations to both Jeremy and Kale on their well-deserved selections.
