SHERWOOD PARK, AB: The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the signing of forward Tristen Buckley (’07) for the 2024/2025 BCHL season.
“We’ve been big fans of Tristan since we first saw him early last year when he skated with us after being identified by our Head Scout, Liam [Horrobin],” commented Crusaders head coach Brennan Menard. “We knew just about immediately that his dynamic skillset would fit the Crusaders’ style of play very well. Even though at that time he had not grown to the size he is currently, size never mattered to us.”
“We’re really happy Tristan chose Sherwood Park for the next step in his development, and we look forward to his development as a Crusader and beyond.”
“I would like to echo Coach Brennan’s sentiments about Tristan,” stated general manager Adam Sergerie. “His talent and dedication were evident from the moment we saw him on the ice. Our organization is committed to fostering an environment where players like Tristan can thrive. His decision to join the Crusaders is a testament to the direction we are moving in and our ability to support our players’ growth.”
We are excited to see how Tristan’s skills will evolve with us and how he will contribute to our team’s success. The future is bright for him, and we are honored to be a part of his journey. His presence strengthens our roster, and we have full confidence that he will become a key player for the Crusaders.
Buckley, 16, joins the Crusaders following a pair of games with the club last season. The Red Deer, Alberta native played the bulk of 2023/2024 with his hometown Chiefs U18 AAA program, where he collected 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) in 38 games. Buckley also potted 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) in five playoff games for the Chiefs.
The Crusaders would like to welcome Tristen and the Buckley family to Sherwood Park.
