Undefeated weekend? Undefeated weekend. Liam Horrobin recaps a pair of massive Crusaders wins against the Cranbrook Bucks and Brooks Bandits!
Game 23 vs Cranbrook Bucks
The Sherwood Park Crusaders went head-to-head with the Cranbrook Bucks for the second time in a week. It didn’t go well for the Crusaders the week before, but this past weekend was a completely different tale. Sherwood Park won the game 10-2 and didn’t allow the Bucks to score until the final six minutes of the third period. Connor Gengle was the only Crusader to score two in the game with Nicholas DiPaulo, John Alex Banks, Poul Andersen, Jeremy Loranger, Cooper Sharp, Hudson Landmark, Matthew Frost and Kale Dach all scoring too. Maxime Ly and Jude Bray each had a pair of assists and Stevie Grumley, Nico Beaudoin and Tait Ross finished with a point too.
Game 24 vs Brooks Bandits
The Crusaders sought out their third win in a row on Saturday night when the Brooks Bandits came into town. Much like the night before, Sherwood Park was facing an opponent they took on last week. Fortunately for the home team, it was the same outcome as the last with the Crusaders coming out 3-1 winners. The Bandits opened the scoring but Sherwood Park responded with 18 seconds left in the first period from Malachi McKinnon. At the same time in the second period, Poul Andersen gave the Cru the lead, which was then sealed later in the third by Matthew Frost.
