NEWS ⎸ James Venne Named BCHL’s 2nd Star of the Week

SHERWOOD PARK, AB: Earlier today, the BCHL announced Crusaders goaltender James Venne as the league’s second star of the week.

“We’re proud of James for being honoured as the 2nd star this past week,” said Crusaders GM Adam Sergerie. “It was great to see him rebound from a couple of tough weekends, and this past week he was a big reason for our team’s success! James showed exactly what he’s capable of when he’s playing at a high level.”

Last week saw Venne, currently committed to Northern Michigan University (NCAA, Div. 1), earn a 2-0 record, picking up victories against the Cranbrook Bucks and Brooks Bandits. Through his pair of games, the Saskatoon native stopped 64 of 67 shots, earning a sparking .955 save percentage. Overall, Venne has compiled an 11-7-0 record, as well as a .903 save percentage.

Venne joins BCHL All-Star Jeremy Loranger (October 8th) as Crusaders selected to the league’s Stars of the Week.

Venne and the Cru return to the ice this Friday and Saturday for a pair of games against the Penticton Vees and the West Kelowna Warriors. Games can be viewed on FloHockey.
