Jeremy Loranger Wins BCHL MVP, Rookie of the Year Awards

The BCHL has announced that Crusaders’ forward Jeremy Loranger has earned both the Vern Dye Memorial Trophy and the Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy for the 2024/2025 season.

The Vern Dye Memorial Trophy is awarded annually to the BCHL MVP, with the Bruce Allison Memorial Trophy recognizing the league’s Rookie of the Year.

“We couldn’t be happier for Jeremy,” commented Crusaders head coach and general manager, Brennan Menard. “His success is indicative of the care and effort he puts into every aspect of his game. His talent is immeasurable, but more importantly, he’s a leader on the ice, inside of the dressing room, and in the community. We’re honoured to have him as a Crusader.”

“We’re incredibly proud of Jeremy’s success this season, and these awards are well-deserved,” echoed Crusaders President of Hockey Operations, Adam Sergerie. “His dedication to the team and leadership both on and off the ice was instrumental to our success through the 2024/2025 season. We couldn’t be happier for not only a great player, but a great person.”

“Congratulations, Jeremy, and all the best at Omaha-Nebraska!”

Loranger’s first season in the BCHL was nothing short of dominant. The University of Omaha-Nebraska commit (NCAA, Div.1) signed with the Crusaders last year following two seasons with his hometown Trois-Rivières Estacades. The 24/25 campaign saw the forward amass 40 goals and 65 assists in 54 games, forming instant chemistry with linemates Kale Dach and Poul Andersen. His 105 points led not only all rookies in scoring, but also the entirety of the BCHL. Loranger was also named to NHL Central Scouting’s Players to Watch List, both in November and their year-end rankings alongside Dach and Andersen. In November, Loranger was selected as the Crusaders’ representative at the BCHL All-Star Game and was one of eight Crusaders selected to the BCHL’s Top Prospects Game.

Following a pair of playoff series that saw Loranger collect 14 points in 8 games, the forward was named to both the BCHL All-Rookie Team and the league’s First All-Star Team.

Congratulations, Jeremy, on your well-deserved wins!
