With only five returning players of off last year’s team, there are many news faces in Sherwood Park’s lineup. Among the new faces are two brothers Danick and Maxim St. Pierre.
The oldest of the two, Maxim was born in Voorhees New Jersey, and started his AAA hockey career in New Hampshire where he would join the Seacoast Spartans. Over three years at Seacoast the 18 year old defenseman would put up 65 points in over 200 games with the Spartans before finishing his minor hockey career with Northwood Prep.
“its kind of crazy” commented Maxim when asked what it’s like to start his junior career with his brother.
“I’ve always practiced with him and always watched his games growing up but playing with him is something I will never forget. It’s something brothers close in age can dream of doing at some point in their career.”
Unlike his brother, Danick St. Pierre was born in North Hampton, New Hampshire. Much like his brother however, Danick would also play for the Spartans where in his 197 total games played the 2008-born forward would get an impressive 213 points.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to begin my junior career and even more excited to share the experience with my brother. Playing away from home for the first time can be a big adjustment, but having him here makes it feel a lot closer to home.”
The Brothers join the Crusaders as the second brother duo in Sherwood’s history to play on the same team at the same time. The last time two brothers played for the crusaders was the 2021-2022 and the 2022-2023 season where brothers Ryan and Evan Arnold suited up for the Guys In Green. In the 2022-2023 season the Arnold brothers combined for 72 points, taking the season as the highest point total combined by brothers in a single season in Crusaders history.
Through five games played the St. Pierre brothers have combined for six total points in this early season. The brothers continue to make an impact on this Crusaders club as both Danick and Maxim continue their rookie seasons with Sherwood Park.
