The Crusaders are pleased to announce the signing of 2006-born defenseman Erik Kald.
Kald comes from the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL this season where he played 11 games without recording a point.
“Erik’s a player that can play our style,” commented GM and Head Coach Brennan Menard when asks what he brings to the team.
“He comes from a great minor program (Long Island Gulls), where we have had success with players before like Malachi (McKinnon) and Poul (Anderson). We love players that have played for Vinny (Smith). Erik’s a player that can play one-touch or two-touch, he’s got a great one-timer and a nice puck mover. He’s a Cerebral player, so we are looking forward to getting him here.”
Over the last two seasons Erik has spent all of his time in the USHL with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders in his rookie season and with the Sioux Falls Stampede last season. Kald in his two previous seasons accumulated 66 games played while gettingĀ 19 points including six goals in that span.
