Adam Girard Joins Crusaders as Executive Director & Director of Player Personnel

The Sherwood Park Crusaders are proud to announce the hiring of Adam Girard as the organization’s Executive Director and Director of Player Personnel.

It is an incredible honour to join the Sherwood Park Crusaders as the Executive Director and Director of Player Personnel,” stated Girard. “I have seen firsthand the level of talent that has come through Sherwood Park and the organization’s impact on the community. The Crusaders have a proud history, and I am excited for the opportunity to help build on the legacy of the next chapter.”

“I am grateful to the ownership group for their support and look forward to working with our staff to develop a team and culture that Sherwood Park can continue to be proud of, both on and off the ice.”

“The Crusaders are excited to have Adam back in this important role within our organization,” stated Crusaders governor Ryan Maxwell. “Adam’s Master’s in Sports Law and Business from ASU and his extensive experience in hockey operations will bolster the organization’s overall performance on and off the ice. Adam has been working with the Cru since 2022 and knows our deep ties to Sherwood Park and our continued efforts to provide the best experiences for our fans, our sponsors, and the community as a whole.”

Girard takes over the business operations of the Crusaders from Adam Sergerie, who will be departing the organization for an opportunity with the Penticton Vees of the WHL.

Girard is no stranger to the Crusaders organization and Albertan hockey fans as a whole. Since 2022, Adam has served as a Regional Scout with the Crusaders, with additional time spent as a scout with the AJHL’s Drayton Valley Thunder. Girard also spent five years as a coach with the St. Albert Raiders organization and earned the role of Director of Operations for the 2023 Hockey Alberta Prospects Cup.

This year saw Adam graduate from Arizona State University with a Master’s in Sports Law and Business. In his time with ASU, Girard served as a Recruiting Assistant for the school’s NCAA Division 1 Hockey program. Previously, Adam earned his Bachelor of Commerce from MacEwan University. Girard has additionally trained in both High Performance 1 and NCCP Development 1 through Hockey Canada.

Outside of the rink, Girard spent six years as a Wildland Firefighter, earning the role of Unit Crew Subleader with Alberta Wildfire.

The Crusaders would like to welcome Adam and his family back to the organization.
